The Dulcet Tones Of Mr John Legend

I can not stop listening to these two songs and like most of the tunes i get stuck 'in my head'; i have no idea why. Ah well, enjoy anyway. As i'm not a big fan, i'm off to discover some more from Mr. Legend.

Fear The Hipster! (they're actually terrorists)

Oh no, not you too Napoleon!

So, they've (as in the MI6/FBI types) have found that 'a disproportionate number of terrorism suspects in America's most notorious prison were apprehended wearing a Casio F-91W'.

Now Hipsters need to decide whether to keep their gold plated/brightly coloured wrist candy or not. Those terrorist bastards causing moral dilemmas for fashionista kids! Lord, if they're not killing people, they're ruining fashion for everyone!
(That was a joke, calm down you overly P.C. jerk, lighten up a little, yeah?).

In all seriousness, i couldn't care less about the watch or whether you wear one or not. I'm just happy i finally got to post a Napoleon Dynamite pic.

Go read the article where i stole my quote from on The Guards' online here, while i go kill my Dad's old school Casio with fire. . . . .

Sheer Bliss

Fleet Foxes- Helpnessness Blues

Listen to the whole album on Soundcloud here. I just have, it's just wonderful. 'Sigh'.
That's me expressing how happy /relaxed i am as an after effect, (not in a wrong way mind you). In fact, i actually feel like being nice to people now, Jeez. These guys are bloody geniuses/genii (what ever makes you happy).

(Released next week).

New Things In Spring/Summer

You know, like cute new born lambs and ickle fluffy bunny wabbits. Ahhh, i give up, it just doesn't suit me. Here's some new stuff in the music world, (that i'm excited about).

I've been going on about it, in fact, everyone's been going on about it, why? Because it's f'n brilliant. Oh what's that, you haven't heard it yet? Why didn't you say?! Listen here. (Then go buy it, it's out next week)

We had 'Blood Bank EP', 'Volcano Choir' and some other colab's to get our Justin Vernon fix since Bon Iver's first album but now there's a date for the next self titled release. . . . . .JUNE. Can't wait, can't wait. can't wait, (you get the picture).

I've now decided i'm looking forward to this, alot. However, i have but one bone to pick, (this is the cover for the new Artic Monkeys album) see, i had to explain.
Boys, Boys, Boys. I get your all incredibly hip, uber cool rock stars now (as shown in their new vid) and down with the whole minimalism thing, but really? No really, why?! Even though i feel i've answered my own question. Anyway the most important thing is the content, released 6th June.

A Must Listen

Currently listening to the album 'Mirrors' by 'U.S. Royalty'. Why am i telling you this you may well ask? . . . .

Because it's bloody good. (There's some sweeeeet guitar string plucking action on this)

They're a four piece from Washington D.C. and no they're not a 'punk' band, (punk's dead remember). They've classed themselves as a 'Rock 'n' Roll' band so i'll go with that, unsigned too, but not for long i predict.

You NEED to give these guys a listen, go show them some love here, yeah?
Cheers x

(The kiss means i'm serious about this one, don't expect them all the time, you sick fuck.)

Revisited.

Platform Mag has the the leaked full 'Fight for Your Right, Revisited' mini-film, you know that Beastie Boys cameo thing i blogged about before. Written and directed by Adam Yauch it's part of the Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2 release.

Watch it on Platform here while you still can, or on Some Kind of Awesome here.

Who Do You Think You Are? The Next Hendrix?

Note to self: Tuning Guitars leaves you frustrated and with numb fingers

No, really, i have almost no feeling in my left index finger.

I have no idea what came over me but i experienced a sudden rush of creativity and decided to take up the guitar again, (the last time being nearly 3 years ago). Cut a long story short, i now remember why i laid my Dad's acoustic to rest the last time.
For those about to pluck/strum, i salute you.

My musical woes don't stop there either, what is the actual point of having a brand spanking new USB turntable that you can't even play back through the bloody USB! RCA cables are the current bain of my life. Now i'm trying to find a pair of speakers that will take the ancient input, which like many things in my life isn't going so well.

Rant over. Thank God i'm going to the pub with the gang tomorrow. . . .

Those Cheeky Monkeys Pullings Chairs Out From Under People

What are they like aye?
But no, in all seriousness, the first official single of Arctic Monkeys' new album 'Suck It and See' (6th June) has dropped- 'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair.

After 'Brick By Brick' i've been curious as to what the lads would come up with and i flippn' LOVE IT. Must admit, i've never been the biggest fan, but it's always been clear to see that Alex Turner is one of the best song writers of recent years. You can hear how their sound has progressed album to album and once again i'd like to thank Mr Homme for unlocking the power of a sweet ass rift.

Enough from me, judge for your self:

This Shit Is Off Da Chain Unreal

I have no idea what any of that means, but what i do know is that the preview of what's to come from the Beastie Boys is bloody exciting. Cameo after cameo after cameo, (you get the picture).
Prizes for the first person to name all the famous faces. (I lie, there is no prize, maybe just some self respect?)

When your done take a listen to the first single to be relased from 'Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2' (due May 3rd), 'Make Some Noise' over at Some Kind of Awesome. Trust me, after everything these guys have been through recently, it's one tasty comeback. . . .

R.I.P. Kurt Cobain

This may be slightly late, but the exact date of his death isn't actually known, (we just have the corroner's report to go on). 17 years on and it's still just as horrific thinking about what could have been. . . . . .

I've just discovered this on The Guardian online. It's a tribute from Jared Leto and it's stupidly good.
