Current Favourite

Yeah yeah, i'm jumping on the bandwagon here (hey, i've posted something from these guys before), but these guys are f'n amazing.
The 'sickest' lyrics i have heard in such a long time from some right 'lads'. They are such a breath of fresh air and backed by my other current favourite Mr K West. I just hope they don't lose their 'rawness' from their upcoming (sorry for saying this) but, 'MTV' performance and from over-blogging from people like me. Ah well, excuse me while i go order myself a t-shirt and research the group (because i'm cool like that, and i'd actually like to know what i'm talking about), meanwhile you can bookmark and watch these:

Instant Love

A new TV On The Radio track has just been released, yesssss. I fell in love with the band after hearing 'Staring At The Sun' and this song has not let me down, gorgeous.

Pointless Pictures

Been looking at blogs today and the housemate mentioned that we don't take enough photos, sooo, i feel a picture taking phase coming along. All completely random of course. Here's the first uttterly pointless picture:

Bedtime Routine

Recently, and for absolutely no reason what so ever i've found myself listening to four songs just before i go to bed, headphones in, full volume; (even though last night i broke the trend and ended up having a 'Kanye West'athon'). They are probably the four most random songs to put together and i have no idea how i came to listening to these in succession. Hopefully the line-up will change before i start to bore myself. Links are up give them a try.
Sweet Dreams. . . .

1. Morgan Page- Longest Road (Grifta Remix)
2. Marvin Gaye- I Heard It Through the Grapevine
3. Janelle Monae- Cold War
4. The Mamma's and The Pappa's- California Dreamin'

Second Posting

So i've posted this track twice now but i've just found the video for it on Some Kind of Awesome, and it's become a track i keep going back to time and time again . . .

Kanye West & Friends

Finally the offical video for all of the lights has dropped and i'm sorry but HOW fit is Rihanna in this?!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HAfFfqiYLp0
(can't upload it on Blogspot yet)

Here's the full version:
I'm going through a bit of a 'Kanye Phase' at the moment, beginning to see him as an actual musical genius.

Explosion On The Web!

So i saw this yesterday on Stereogum and today it's EVERYWHERE! Not complaining though, i can't stop watching it, it's bloody brilliant. I posted it on Facebook but none of my friends appreciated it, their loss.

(My housemate isn't overly impressed with them, said he prefers 'Antipop Consortium'. Looks like i've got some catching up to do)

QOTSA Announce UK Show

(I'd just finished ordering their re-release LP when i found out.)

I'm so excited i think a little bit of pee just came out. Vile i know, but come on, they are my favourtie band. BUT (and it's a big but) as i'm 250 miles away from the gig's location (uni) i have this awful feeling that i'm not going to make it, and that fucking hurts man. What i wouldn't do for a ticket, hmmmmm. . . .

17th May, Roundhouse London
Tickets on sale 25th February.

Found a great video on the history of the band on Zane Lowe's blog, with the ginger beast himself, watch it here.

Some Old With The New

Start with the old i spose. I rediscovered this hilarious video of Zach Galifianakis and Will Oldham and now my whole house can't stop singing it. We watched The Hangover for the 100th time yesterday (will it ever get old? i doubt it), forgot it was featured in it. Tuuuuune. . . .

And on with the new:

Firstly the new Foo Fighters song, White Limo. Absolutely brilliant. Not only does it see a return to the guitar heavy, brutal drumming and vocal sound of yesteryear, (dare i say it sounds like something Josh Homme would have worked on, QOTSA & Them Crooked Vultures, see the link? . . . . ), the video also features the bad ass mofo that is Lemmy Kilmister. Enough Said.

Next The Guardian have uploaded the entire Jamie xx (Jamie Smith) remix album of Gil Scott-Heron's I'm New Here just before its release. Catch it here.

And i spose it's about time i uploaded The Strokes first single from their new album Angles. Better late than never right? I've had people tell me they wanted something 'new/fresh sounding from them and that they hate this because it sounds just like 'The Strokes'. . . . .I am sick of the constant need for shitty 'music fans' wanting something new from artists, this record is the band back on top form and the haters can suck my left one. (hard to do since i don't actually have any, i'm a girl stupid).

That Blog Is On Fire!

Some Kind of Awesome has been busy lately and it being one of the best music blogs i've ever come across, every post has been brilliant.
They've just uploaded a trailer featuring 'Howlin' for You' from The Black Keys. Amazing! Watch it here:

Long Live The White Stripes (instead of R.I.P)

You know, because their music isn't going to 'rest' is it?! Mr Jack White can now go on to become the musical genius/guru/god that he's meant to be. I mean, do you remember when this happened? F'n ridiculous.

I quote: "The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want". Sooo, The Glitch Mob did this:

Longing For Summer

I remember hearing this last year but didn't really 'get into it', too faithful to MGMT i spose. It's popped up again on We Are Hunted and this video makes me crave some summer sun. . . . .
(watch the official video here)

Loved this as soon as i heard it, yessssssss. (shame about the engagement, right?)

Oh, talking of We Are Hunted, check out my chart.

I'm Still Alive. . . .(Just)

Been stupidly busy since going back to uni, hence the lack in posts, and i wholeheartedly apologise.
Went out for a night out on the town, the first of which since being back. It was just as average as it always is. . . . .

Anyways, here's what i've been listening to lately:

I have been waiting soooooo long for this and i am NOT disappointed in the least. Beautiful. On the down side, they only have one UK tour date and i'll be too far away from London to attend. Damn man, it hurts.

Can not stop listening to this track! On listening to the album i was pleasantly reminded of The Beach Boys.

Last of all, but most certainly not least, this video is doing the rounds for a good reason, it's brilliant.
